When you order a custom cable railing system from Paul Kraft MPLS, you’re not getting a generic kit. You’re getting a railing designed specifically for your space – with measurements you send us, materials we fabricate ourselves, and cables we cut only after everything’s in place.
Here’s how we build and ship custom cable railings the right way:
Step 1: Send Us Photos and Basic Measurements
Start by sending:
- Photos of your deck, stairway, or project space
- Basic run measurements
- Stair angle, if stairs are involved (we don’t use swivel joints, we custom-make stair posts to match your angle)
You can submit this info through our Request a Quote form.
Step 2: We Quote Your Custom Railing System
Based on your info, we create a tailored quote. Once approved, we’ll send your invoice and get to work on your order.
Step 3: We Ship the Posts and Top Rail First
We fabricate and send:
- Powder-coated aluminum posts (steel by special request)
- A top rail cut to your specs – shipped a bit long so you can trim it to fit during install
- Mounting hardware and install instructions
If you choose a wood rail, it’ll arrive prepped but not finished, so you can stain or seal it to match your project. Aluminum rails are also shipped long for easy cutting on-site.
This first shipment sets the foundation for a perfect fit.
Step 4: Install Posts and Top Rail Before Measuring for Cables
This is key:
Only measure for cables after installing the posts and securing the top rail.
We’ve seen too many problems with premature cable measurements, so we avoid that risk altogether by cutting your cables only after your framework is in place.
Step 5: Send Final Cable Measurements – We Cut and Ship Fast
Once your posts and top rail are installed:
- Send us your final cable measurements
- We cut and crimp each stainless steel cable to your exact lengths
- Your cables ship out, usually within 1–2 business days
You get a railing that fits right the first time — without needing adjustments or extra tools.
Why Choose Paul Kraft MPLS for Custom Cable Railings?
- Built-to-fit aluminum posts (no swivel joints)
- Extra-long rails = more flexibility during install
- Final cable cuts made after your system is up = fewer mistakes
- No cookie-cutter kits. Just strong, clean, modern railing systems made for your project
